Setting up your website template:
WARNING: Because of the large sizes of sound files, you may want to keep your bandwith usage in mind on your account so you don't go over any limits if your site gets very popular. Also, all sound files used on Allwebco hosting MUST be legal for you to use and not infringe on any copyrights.

Be sure not to delete the "&cornerletter=". This will update the Flash logo on all pages. If you wish to use a graphic logo, there are instructions later in this document.

In the "sounds" folder edit the "player-flash.txt" and change the "Artist or Band Name" text with your site or band name. This text is for the popup mp3 player.

Step 2:
EDIT COPYRIGHT: | Click for more details
Open the "copyright.js" file in Notepad or any text editor, and change the "Your Name or Band" with your text. This will update the footer info on all pages. Edit all ".js" files with a text editor.

Step 3:
EDIT CONTACT INFO: | Click for more details
Open the "phone.js" file in Notepad or any text editor and change the company name, address, phone number and e-mail address. This will update contact info on the contact page.

Step 4:
EDIT THE CONTACT FORM:

Click for current info on setting up the template forms.

Click for info on adding more fields to the forms.

Click for changing form sizes or colors.

If you want to use only e-mail on the contact page you can remove the contact form by deleting between the "REMOVE FORM" notes in the "contact.htm".

Step 5:
REPLACE THE GALLERY PICTURES: | Click for more details | Thumbnail Help
The best way to setup the pictures in the gallery is not to actually edit the HTML pages and change the pictures on each individual page. The fastest way is to simply replace the pictures in the "gallery" folder with your own by overwriting the files that are in there now and using the same generic names.

In the "gallery" folder, replace the 36 "Fgallery" pictures with full size photos. Replace the 36 "gallery" pictures with your thumbnails. The thumbnails are now 75 x 50 pixels. Fgallery images are 500 x 333. You can make your images any size that you prefer.

GALLERY OPTIONS: | Click for more details
There are 2 options in the "slideshow.js" for the gallery. To change these options, open your "slideshow.js" in Notepad. The options are at the top.

Step 6:
EDIT THE SOUND FILES:
All the sounds used on this template can be found in the "sounds" folder.

HOMEPAGE SOUND:
The index.html on this template has a background sound named "homepage.mp3" in the sounds folder. Replace this mp3 with your file named "homepage.mp3". To remove the homepage sound see options later in this document.

SAMPLES PAGES: | Click for more details
The 4 samples pages included in this template must use mp3 files. Replace all the .mp3 files in the "sounds" folder with your own. Each is named for the page and placement on the page. Example: "song1-1.mp3" is in sound-1.htm, spot 1. "song2-6.mp3" is in sound-2.htm, spot 6. It's quicker to simply replace these mp3 files rather than edit the HTML pages with other file names, although you can do this either way. Editing song names in the "sound-?.htm" pages is best done in Notepad before you start editing the pages using other HTML software because of the javascript. You can add more songs to each "sound-?.htm" page. See notes in the sound pages for code to copy and paste.

Step 7:
SETTING UP MP3s FOR AUTODOWNLOADS:
To setup your mp3 files to sell with automatic downloads you will edit the "samples-1.htm" through "samples-4.htm" pages. Click here for complete setup info.

NOTE: The template robots.txt is setup to keep search engines out of your "download" folder. Be sure to upload this file to your hosting area.

Step 8:
REPLACE THE FLASH CHANGER IMAGES: | Click for more details
The Flash image changer on the homepage (index.html) is randomly showing 10 .jpg images. Replace these 10 images in the "flash" folder with your own 500 x 333 pixel .jpg images. In the "flash" folder is a file called "image_changer.xml". This file is the changer setup file. Edit this .xml file in Notepad to change how the changer works. You can also add more images to the changer. Click for details.

Step 9:
SETUP THE MERCHANDISE PAGE: | Click for more details
If you are selling items on your website like Cds or T-shirts you will want to edit the "merchandise.htm" with your Paypal account e-mail, item names, item prices and return page URL. In each form edit 4 areas. Edit the view cart button form with your Paypal e-mail. There are notes in the "merchandise.htm" code to point out these 5 total forms. Click for details.

The images for the merchandise page are named "cd-1.jpg" through "cd-4.jpg" and are located in the "picts" folder. They are 75 x 75 pixels in size.

Step 10:
SETUP THE VIDEO PAGE: | Click for more details
The "video.htm" is setup to display 4 "sets" of videos. Replace the 8 video files in your "videos" folder with your videos. Each video has a MOV file and a WMV file to give visitors more viewing options. Be sure to test both after you overwrite the video files. Edit the 8 HTML pages in your "videos" folder to change the text on each video popup page. All images used on the video pages can be found in the "videos" folder.

Step 11:
EDIT PAGES: | Software choices | Notepad Editing
Edit the text on all pages with your text. You can use Frontpage, Dreamweaver, GoLive, any wysiwyg HTML editor or a text editor like Notepad. Take care not to delete any of the HTML tags that surround the text. Be sure to edit 2 pages for the homepage. Edit the "index.html" and the "home-nosound.html".

Step 12:
EDIT TITLES, DESCRIPTIONS AND KEYWORDS: | Click for more details
Open each of the pages in Notepad and change the titles (at the very top of the page) and also the description and the keywords to match your product or service. (in Frontpage use "file" "properties" and hit the "custom" tab and "general" tab) You can edit one page and copy and paste to the other pages. Be careful to only change what's inside the "" so you don't disturb the html code. Page titles are important so your site will get a good listing at Google, MSN and other search engines.

Step 13:
UPLOAD: | Click for more details
Upload the pages on to your hosting company's server using ftp software like CuteFTP or Coffee Cup (free) or your control panel. Be sure to make a folder called "picts" and "sounds" on your server and put the pictures into that folder, or, just upload the whole folders at once.

Options:

USING A GRAPHIC LOGO:
You can replace the Flash logo with a graphic logo. To do this, delete or rename the "header.js", then rename the "graphic_header.js" to "header.js". In the picts folder you will find a graphic called "logo.jpg". Edit this graphic with your logo.

THE NO SOUND HOMEPAGE: | Click for more details
This template is setup so users will visit your site, there will be sound on the homepage (index.html), then on the menu the link to "home" goes to the "home-nosound.html" page so no music plays a second time. Be sure to edit both of these homepages, or see the next section on this page.

TO HAVE ONLY ONE HOMEPAGE: | Click for more details
This template includes 2 homepages. To have only one homepage, delete the "home-nosound.html", then edit the "home-nosound.html" link in the flash.txt, the "menu.js" and in the "menu_gallery.js" so it links to the "index.html".

THE MP3 FLASH PLAYER SKIN: | Click for more details
You can edit the look of the popup Flash player. This is generally not an easy item to replace. You will find the 5 "skin" .jpg images for this popup player in the "sounds" folder. A Photshop PSD for the player is located in the "extras" folder.

ADDING MORE VIDEOS:
If you edit the "video.htm" in a plain text editor you can copy and paste sections to add more. Example: Copy the code between the "START VIDEO-4" notes in the "video.htm" and paste it below itself to add another video. Then on the following support page see the adding more video popups section.

MP3 AND VIDEO POPUP OPTIONS: | Click for more details
You can control the size and other options of the mp3 player and video popup, or make the player full browser size. Open the "pop-closeup.js" in a text editor and edit the variables near the top of this file.

ADDING MORE IMAGES TO A GALLERY PAGE: | Click for more details
Adding more images on a gallery page is involved and Allwebco does not support this. It is recommended that you instead add a new gallery page and add a link to this new page in the "menu_gallery.js". Click above for details.

PAGE PICTURES: | Click for more details
You can replace all template images with your own. You will find all images in the "picts" folder. Images used on the video page and in the video popup are located in the "videos" folder.

FONTS: | Click for more details
You can change your font colors and sizes by editing the "coolstyle.css" with a text editor. You can find other font colors by clicking here. You can also change the font sizes in the "coolstyle.css" file. Change the "TABLE" px size to change the copy on all pages. Change the "title" px size to change all the title sizes.

CHANGING / ADDING MENU BUTTONS: | Click for more details
You can change the names on the buttons like "home" or "bio" to other page names by editing the "menu.js" in Notepad. Whatever you change in the menu.js will change every page on the website except for the gallery pages. You can also add more page links by copying the button code in the "menu.js" and pasting it right below the next. Be sure to back up your files before you edit them.

The menu used on the gallery pages is named "menu_gallery.js". Edit this .js file if you add more galleries or want to give your gallery pages names instead of the Gal1, Gal2, Gal3 names that are in the "menu_gallery.js" now.

ADDING PAGES: | Click for more details
You can add pages to your website by copying and pasting any one of the pages and renaming it to whatever you need. You can then add links to new pages on the other pages or you can add a page link to the "menu.js" or "menu_gallery.js". See menu editing above. There are notes in the "menu.js" and "menu_gallery.js" to help you add new links.

THE robots.txt FILE:
The template robots.txt is setup to keep search engines out of your "download" folder. Be sure to upload this file to your hosting area.

PAGE HEIGHTS:
So all your pages will maintain a standard height a "pageheight.js" file was included. Edit this file in Notepad and you can change the height="600" to any height you need.
